Eight Phoenix men, two women to participate in NAIA Championships

LEBANON, Tenn. – Eight men and two women will represent Cumberland University at the NAIA Track and Field Championships set for May 23-25 in Gulf Shores, Ala., as announced this week by the national office.

Phoenix finish fourth in MSC President's Cup standings

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland finished fourth among the eighth institutions in the Mid-South Conference President’s Cup standings for the 2018-19 academic year, as announced recently by the league office.

Five tracksters named Academic All-Mid-South Conference

LEBANON, Tenn. – Five Cumberland track and field athletes – Sydney Clere, Dylon Dishman, Parker Kuchek, Bumnene Ndebele and Charles Shimukowa – were named Academic All-Mid-South Conference, as announced Wednesday by the league office in advance of this week’s conference championships in Williamsburg, Ky.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Charles Shimukowa won the 400-meters and Bumnene Ndebele was first on the triple jump, Tyler Williams placed second in the 100 and 200-meters and Abby Gawthorp finished second in the 3000-meter steeplechase for Cumberland track and field Friday at the APSU Invitational in Clarksville, Tenn.

Shimukowa wins 800, Mays third in 1500 for CU tracksters

LEBANON, Tenn. – Senior Charles Shimukowa won the 800-meters, junior Amber Mays placed third in the 1500-meters and junior Bumnene Ndebele finished fifth in the triple jump for the Cumberland track and field teams Saturday at the Hilltopper Relays in Bowling Green, Ky.

Kilian wins 10,000-meters at KWC Invitational

LEBANON, Tenn. – Riley Kilian won the 10,000-meters for the women while Cornelius Kipchumba, Nate Mihnovich and Jerry Rojas placed in the Top 5 in the same event for the men Friday at the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational in Owensboro, Ky.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Kalea Barnett won the hammer throw and placed fourth in the discus while Josiah Scott and Caleb Staten finished 2-3 in the hammer and Camryn Jacobs was fourth in the long jump for Cumberland at the Falcon Classic on Friday in Montevallo, Ala.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland’s Charles Shimukowa and Bumnene Ndebele earned All-America honors based on their performances at the recently completed NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships in Brookings, S.D. The duo becomes the first All-Americans in the three-year history of the program.

CU hosting 4th Annual All-Sports Camp on Sept. 9

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University and the Lebanon-Wilson County Chamber of Commerce Sports Council are teaming up for the 4th Annual All Sports Camp for Wilson County residents ages 7-14 on Sunday, September 9 from 3-5 p.m. on the CU campus. Registration starts at 2 p.m. that day.
