Allen hired as new Cumberland SID
Allen reported for duties Monday, July 8.

LEBANON, Tenn.-- Cumberland University Athletic Director Ron Pavan announced the hiring of Kyle Allen as the new Sports Information Director Thursday, June 27, replacing Jo Jo Freeman after his resignation last month.

"We are excited that Kyle has come back to us as our new Sports Information Director. He will bring a lot of energy, professionalism, and dedication to the position," Pavan said. "I am happy that I am able to hire a CU alum to improve connectivity with both alumni and current students."

While an undergrad, Allen competed for the Cumberland baseball program as a catcher, taking part in the 2014 Mid-South Conference and NAIA national championship team. During his junior season, he started 43 games, batting .252 while driving in 22 runners.

Allen graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Health and Human Performance in 2017 and earned a Master's degree in Sports Management this past year while working as a graduate assistant in the athletics department.

A native of Marietta, GA, Allen returns to Cumberland after a brief stint with the Nashville Sounds as an Operations Seasonal Associate.
