Stephanie Kushnir begins her second year as a graduate assistant in Sports Information at Cumberland after spending the last four years playing hockey at SUNY-Canton.
The Goshen, N.Y., native was a founding member of the women's hockey program at SUNY-Canton, earning USCAA All-Academic honors as a sophomore and senior and Colonial Hockey Conference All-Academic honors as a senior as well. She was a member of the President's List five semesters and the Dean's List twice during her collegiate career.
Kushnir interned her final semester of college in the Sports Information office at SUNY-Canton, creating gameday programs, editing highlight videos for the athletic website and creating and maintaining social media accounts for specific teams. She also assisted with Special Olympics, took photos during sporting events and inputted stats using Stat Crew.
During her first year at Cumberland Kushnir was responsible for the day-to-day reporting on volleyball, men's basketball and softball, including game notes and stories, game and season stats and postgame information. She handled all of the department's weekly and gameday social media graphics as well as managing social media accounts for volleyball, men's basketball and softball. She also created web and advertising graphics for GoCumberlandAthletics.com as well as the football gameday program and other athletic events.
She earned her bachelor's in Sports Management with a minor in Marketing from SUNY-Canton in May 2016 and is currently enrolled in the master's program for Sports Management at Cumberland.
