Dr. Jennifer Savage begins her first year at Cumberland as the Clinical Education Coordinator. Her duties at CU include teaching Athletic Training courses, coordinating athletic training students’ clinical rotations and overseeing the various Preceptors and their affiliated clinical sites.
Prior to joining the Phoenix, Dr. Savage was a Research and Teaching Assistant for Athletic Training in the Kinesiology Department at Michigan State University in East Lansing. Here she earned her doctorate of Philosophy in Kinesiology with a concentration in Athletic Training in May 2019.
Dr. Savage earned her master's in Sports Medicine from Georgia State University in 2015 where she was also a Teaching Assistant in the Sports Medicine Education Program in Athletic Training.
After receiving her bachelor's in Athletic Training from Western Carolina University (2013), she served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Agnes Scott College and Southern Polytechnic State University.
Dr. Savage comes to Cumberland with many different areas of teaching, research, and clinical experiences gained from her time at other institutions.
Dr. Savage and her fiance, Michael Burgett, live in Lebanon with their new puppy Maverick.
