Greener named Player of the Week

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland’s Matt Greener was named the TranSouth Player of the Week after batting .667 in three games with three home runs and eight RBIs in a series at Mid-Continent. The honor is the fifth this season for Greener and the 14th out of a possible 24 for the Bulldogs.
 
Greener was 8-for-12 in the three contest at Mid-Continent last Thursday and Friday. The Jupiter, Fla., native collected two hits in both ends of Thursday's doubleheader, driving in one run in the opener and walking and adding two RBIs in the second game.
 
In Friday's single game Greener went 4-for-5 with three homers and five RBIs, raising his NAIA-leading home run mark to 25. He is currently batting .505 with 22 doubles, 25 RBIs and 87 RBIs in 55 games this season with 102 hits and a .995 slugging percentage heading into Wednesday’s contest against Union Univ.
