Cumberland jumps 15 spots in rankings
LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University is ranked fourth in the first regular season 2010 NAIA Baseball Coaches’ Top 25 Poll released Tuesday by the national office.
The ranking is the highest for the Bulldogs since earning the second spot in the preseason poll in 2007.
Cumberland owns a 25-6 record this season heading into Wednesday’s contest against Lambuth University, which also received votes in the poll, at 2 p.m. at Ernest L. Stockton Field. The Bulldogs already have six victories this season over ranked opponents – three versus No. 3 Oklahoma City Univ., two against sixth-ranked Embry-Riddle and one versus No. 8 Campbellsville Univ.
Cumberland was ranked 19th in the 2010 NAIA Baseball Coaches’ Preseason Top 25 Poll in November.
