LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University’s Shawn Schaefer was recently named to the CanadianBaseballNetwork.com All-Canadian College Team. The lefthander was an Honorable Mention selection and was the only player from the TranSouth Conference in the listings.

Schaefer tossed 5.2 innings in CU’s season-opening victory at North Alabama, allowing allowing four runs on five hits with one walk and three strikeouts.

Last season the Pitt Meadows, British Columbia, native was the anchor of the Bulldogs staff, working a team-high 88.0 innings and posting a 6-3 record with a 4.40 ERA. He struck out 69 in 13 appearances, registering seven complete games.

Just two other players from the Mid-South Conference were on the list – Marc Wilson from Campbellsville Univ. (Calgary, Alberta) and Tyler Plumpton from the Univ. of Rio Grande (Peterborough, Ontario). The full list may be found at www.canadianbaseballnetwork.com.
