LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University is planning a reunion for the 1993 baseball team on April 12-13 on campus, including a Friday night gathering and recognizing all former players in attendance during Saturday’s doubleheader.
The 1993 squad posted a 48-22 record, winning the TCAC championship and finishing third in the NAIA World Series, the best finish for the program to that point in school history. The team played in what is regarded as perhaps the greatest game in NAIA World Series, a 1-0, 13-inning loss against Gordie Gillespie’s St. Francis Saints in Des Moines, Iowa.
Cumberland will host UVA-Wise on the weekend of April 12-13, with Friday’s single game starting at 2 p.m. and first pitch for Saturday’s doubleheader at Noon. For more information or to RSVP for the event, please contact head coach Woody Hunt at 615-547-1366 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
