LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland infielder Josciel Veras was selected in the 30th round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Saturday by the Cincinnati Reds.


Anderson earns Gold Glove Award

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland’s Tyler Anderson received the 2014 Rawlings-NAIA Baseball Gold Glove at shortstop, as selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association All-America Selection Committee. For the eighth year, a total of nine players were chosen based upon their defensive success.


Lind voted World Series MVP

LEBANON, Tenn. – Five Cumberland players – Sam Lind, Ricky Coleman, Tyler Anderson, Justin Byrd and Anthony Gomez – were named to the All-Tournament Team at the 58th Annual Avista-NAIA World Series and Lind earned MVP honors for the tournament, as announced last weekend at the conclusion of the event.


Baseball ends year ranked No. 1 in Coaches' Poll

LEBANON, Tenn. – After winning its third national championship in 10 years, Cumberland ended the season ranked No. 1 in the 2014 NAIA Baseball Coaches’ Postseason Top 25 Poll, the national office announced Wednesday. The Bulldogs were the unanimous selection, collecting all 20 first-place votes and 560 total points.


137 student-athletes named to Spring Dean's List

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University announced the 2014 Spring Semester Dean’s List last week, which includes 137 current and former student-athletes and athletic training majors. The honor is reserved for students who have achieved a grade-point-average of 3.50 or above on all classes attempted during the spring semester.


Lind, Coleman, Hall voted NAIA All-Americans

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland’s Sam Lind earned First Team All-America honors and Ricky Coleman and Chris Hall were both voted Second Team All-Americans, as announced Monday by the national office and selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association (NAIA-BCA) All-America Selection Committee.


Hunt set for Monday radio appearances

Eight baseball players named NAIA Scholar-Athletes

Baseball camps set to begin June 9

LEBANON, Tenn. – Four different Cumberland University baseball camps will take place throughout the month of June into early July. The first option, a hitting camp for ages 6-12 will begin June 9-12.

131 student-athletes, personnel set to graduate

Athletics set to honor Bulldog scholar-athletes

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland Athletics will host the Third Annual Scholar-Athlete Recognition Day with a breakfast for 132 current students at Immanuel Baptist Church on Friday, April 25. LEBANON, Tenn. – Two big innings carried Cumberland to an 11-7 victory in the opener, with Marc Monroe tossing the final five innings for the victory, but St. Catharine College scored in each of the first four innings and won the series with a 7-4 win in game two on Saturday in in St. Catharine, Ky.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland erased a four-run deficit with three runs in the sixth and single runs in the eighth and ninth, with Richie Seaton’s sacrifice fly putting the Bulldogs ahead, but St. Catharine plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth, the last one on an infield single by Nick Rosso, and the Patriots posted a 7-6 victory in the opening game of the series Friday in St. Catharine, Ky.
