LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland infielder Rayden Sierra earned Mid-South Conference Baseball Player of the Week honors on Monday after batting .538 with four RBIs and seven runs scored in four games over the weekend for the Phoenix.
The Andrēs Boca Chica, Dominican Republic, native helped Cumberland win 3-of-4 games over the weekend against Lourdes University and Indiana Wesleyan, posting two hits in each of the first three games with a pair of doubles, one triple, one home run, four RBIs and seven runs scored.
The junior scored once and drove in a pair of runs on Friday against Lourdes and collected two hits with a double and two runs scored Friday versus Indiana Wesleyan. He hit a solo homer, posted two hits and scored three times Saturday against IWU and doubled, drove in a run and scored once Saturday versus Lourdes.
Sierra is batting .343 with five doubles, three home runs, 15 RBIs and a team-leading 19 runs scored in 19 games this season for Cumberland.
