BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Continuing rain has canceled all softball games for Saturday and Cumberland’s baseball game will now start between 8-9 p.m. at the at the Mid-South Conference Championships here in Bowling Green, as announced Saturday afternoon by the league office.
Baseball and softball games were originally pushed back to 7 p.m. CT Saturday because of overnight and morning rain in the Bowling Green area, but the weather system continues to dump light and moderate rain on the area throughout the day and forecasts call for that rain to continue through Saturday afternoon.
Once the rain stops, hopefully between 7-8 p.m., the conclusion of the Cumberland-Lindsey Wilson baseball game will take place and will be the only baseball game played on Saturday. Standing water in the outfield and the prospect of dumping more water from the tarps canceled the softball games set for Saturday.
Phoenix softball will play Sunday at 11 a.m. CT against the University of the Cumberlands.
