LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland baseball and head coach Woody Hunt will host camps throughout the month of June during summer 2019 for ages 6-18 at Ernest L. Stockton Field-Woody Hunt Stadium, including Fundamental Camp, Hitting and Pitching Camp and Advanced Fundamental Camp.
Fundamental Camp for ages 6-9 is set for June 3-6 while ages 10-13 have Fundamental Camp on June 10-13. Fundamental Camp places players in age-appropriate groups where instruction is provided in all aspects of the game, including hitting, fielding and baserunning.
Campers work in drill stations to improve techniques covered by the coaching staff in the morning and are placed in baseball situations and scrimmages to participate in a game-type atmosphere in the afternoon.
Hitting and Pitching Camp takes place June 17-19, with Hitting Camp (ages 6-14) in the morning and Pitching Camp (ages 8-14) in the afternoon.
Advanced Fundamental Camp is set for June 24-27 for ages 14-18 and is recommended for high school players looking to continue their career in college. A high level of focus and attention to detail are required, as baseball concepts and drill work become much more concentrated. Coaches stress the mental and physical aspects of the game and what it takes to become a well-rounded collegiate baseball player.
