LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University’s bowling team completed its second tournament of the season with 10th and 15th place finishes in the men’s and women’s divisions, respectively, last weekend at the Brickyard Classic at Western Bowl in Indianapolis, Ind.
Freshman Theo Shipp led the men’s team, finishing sixth overall out of 275 competitors, as the men finished 10th out of 40 teams in the tournament. Shipp leads the national standings for top rookie in collegiate bowling this year.
The men outscored Bethel Univ. for the second consecutive tournament and are the top team in Tennessee as well.
In the women’s division, freshman Shelby Swindell placed eighth out of 147 bowlers. The Bulldogs ended the tournament in 15th out of 21 teams.
Cumberland will next compete in the Orange and Black Classic this Saturday, at Beaver-Vu Bowl in Beavercreek, Ohio.
