LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland bowling placed sixth in the men’s division and tied for 11th in the women’s division, in its first Tier 1 tournament of the season at the Brunswick Southern Collegiate Classic at Brunswick Zone in Marietta, Ga., on November 16.
In the men’s division, the Bulldogs were chosen for web tv on bowl.com for their match against Martin Methodist. CU beat the Redhawks in a two-game match and subsequently moved ahead of them in the tournament standings never to relinquish its lead. Cumberland’s 11,816 pins vaulted the team into sixth place out of 26 nationally-ranked teams in one of the major events of the collegiate regular season.
In the women’s division, the Bulldogs tied for 11th out of 16 teams with 9,718 pins.

CU’s bowling team is currently ranked 33rd out of 125 teams in the men’s division and 53rd out of 69 in the women’s division nationally.
Cumberland next competes at the Raider Classic on November 13 at Poelking Woodland Lanes in Kettering, Ohio.
