Bell places 16th, Midgett 27th for CU bowling

LEBANON, Tenn. – Sophomore Peyton Bell finished 16th and senior Chase Midgett placed 27th, leading the Cumberland bowlers over the weekend at the Orange and Black Classic in Dayton, Ohio.

Bell knocked down 957 pins, an average of 191.4 over the five games and just 32 pins from the Top 10. Midgett was next for the Phoenix and the only other men’s bowlers to roll five games, knocking down 930 pins for 27th, an average of 186.0.

Senior Nathan Parrott finished with 551 pins in four games, with Jarred Bradshaw right behind with 538. Freshman Baytley Cardwell posted 404 pins in three games, while freshmen Nick Anderson and Matt Holmes each recorded 325 pins. Junior Justin Pervine collected 135 pins in one game.

Senior Taylor Wagner paced the women’s team with 783 pins and junior Kelsey Wezel was right behind with 741. Senior Amee Pervine registered 718 pins and sophomore Rickie Denson tallied 680, all in five games. Junior Hannah Ellsworth knocked down 439 pins.

Cumberland bowls again in the Collegiate Baker Bash hosted by Martin Methodist at the Smyrna Bowling Center in Smyrna, Tenn.
