LEBANON, Tenn. – One hundred and sixteen current and former Cumberland student-athletes, athletic trainers and athletic staff will receive their degrees this Saturday in the 174th Commencement ceremonies on the lawn of Memorial Hall. It marks the fourth straight year of more than 100 graduates for athletic department student-athletes and personnel.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Tryouts for the 2016-17 Cumberland University cheerleading and dance squads will be held April 22-23 at the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center on the CU campus. A clinic will take place on Friday, April 22 from 4-8 p.m. and tryouts will be held Saturday, April 23 from 9-11 a.m.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland’s Morgan Beasley and Alyssa Freeman were both voted First Team All-Mid-South Conference and Kendall Roberts and Sydnee Steverson were named Second Team All-MSC, as selected by the coaches and released Wednesday during the conference awards banquet in Frankfort, Ky.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Seven Cumberland cheer and dance team members – Alison Decker, Lauren Gregory, Virginia Lea, Jamie Rice, Kayla Rice, Kendall Roberts and Sydnee Steverson – were named Mid-South Conference Scholar-Athletes, as announced this week by the league office in advance of the conference championships that take place Wednesday night in Frankfort, Ky.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University announced the 2015 Fall Dean’s List this week, which includes 142 student-athletes, athletic department personnel and athletic training majors. The honor is reserved for students who achieved a grade-point-average of 3.50 or above on all classes attempted during the fall semester.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University wrestling, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and cheer and dance teams all participated in set-up, breakdown and event management for community service projects at last weekend’s Sherry’s Run in Lebanon.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland student-athletes with men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s golf, baseball, softball and cheer-dance were all involved in community service projects in the Lebanon area on August 28-29 as part of Leadership Day activities in the athletic department.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University student-athletes in winter and spring sports participated in Leadership Training on Saturday, August 29 that included lectures from deans within the University, sessions on sexual assault, social media training and nutrition as well as eligibility.
