Estes, Rice earn Mid-South Scholar-Athlete honors

LEBANON, Tenn. – A pair of Cumberland cheer and dance team members were named Mid-South Conference Scholar-Athletes last week, as announced by the league office during the conference championships in Frankfort, Ky.

Senior Jamie Rice and sophomore Amber Estes were both honored. Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically and maintain a 3.25 grade-point-average to be eligible for the award.

Rice holds a 3.66 GPA in Special Education and Estes carries a 3.30 in Biology.

A total of 36 cheer and dance team members from eight Mid-South Conference institutions were honored, with Lindsey Wilson leading the way with 10 student-athletes honored.
