Three from cheer-dance named NAIA Scholar-Athletes

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University cheer and dance team members Virginia Lea, Jamie Rice and Kayla Rice were named 2017 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes recently, as announced by the national office.

Student-athletes must be a junior or senior academically and maintain a 3.50 grade-point-average and above to be eligible for the award.

Lea holds a 3.96 GPA in Management and Psychology, while Jamie Rice carries a 3.50 in her master’s program for Education and Kayla Rice has a 3.50 in Criminal Justice/Public Administration.
