Eight cheer-dance team members earn Academic All-MSC honors

LEBANON, Tenn. – Eight Cumberland cheer and dance team members were named Academic All-Mid-South Conference during a banquet Friday in Bowling Green, Ky., before the conference championships.

Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically and hold a 3.25 grade-point-average and above to be eligible for the award.

Cheerleaders Shelby LaHammer, Virginia Lea and Savannah Rogers along with dance team members Lindy Archie, Emily Blackwood, Alyssa Brim, Morgan Collins and Sarah Tibbs were all recognized by the league office.

Lea posts a 3.94 grade-point-average in Marketing/Psychology while Emily Blackwood holds a 3.77 (Associates of Science) and Tibbs carries a 3.76 in Biology. Archie has a 3.64 in Secondary Education, Collins registers a 3.61 in Business Management and Brims posts a 3.56, also in Business Management.

Rogers holds a 3.50 (Associates of Music) and LaHammer posts a 3.44 in Business.
