LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University announced the 2014 Spring Semester Dean’s List last week, which includes 137 current and former student-athletes and athletic training majors. The honor is reserved for students who have achieved a grade-point-average of 3.50 or above on all classes attempted during the spring semester.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University will no longer sponsor cycling as a varsity sport effective at the end of the spring semester due to increased spending on travel and a decrease in the number of athletes on the roster over the last six years.

LEBANON, Tenn. – A record 131 current and former Cumberland student-athletes, athletic trainers and athletic staff will receive their degrees this Saturday in the 172nd Commencement ceremonies on the lawn of Memorial Hall on the CU campus. It marks the fourth straight year of increase in the number of graduates for athletic department student-athletes and personnel.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland’s cycling team has racked up numerous awards and Top 5 finishes and junior Tommy Schubert claimed the Southeastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (SECCC) leaders’ jersey by accumulating the most individual points throughout the season. The Bulldogs are racing this weekend at the USA Cycling Road National Championships in Richmond, Va.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland finished ninth in the overall team omnium with only four riders in the team’s second year competing in Division I at the cold and snowy at the USA Cycling Collegiate Mountain Bike National Championships at the end of October in Beech Mountain, N.C.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University Director of Athletics Ron Pavan named former team and staff member Britton Kinnard as the head coach of the cycling program effective immediately. Kinnard takes over for Tim Hall, who left the program this week to become head coach at Lees-McRae College.
