Katie Arnold begins her third year as the Athletic Training (AT) Program Director and in her ninth year overall at Cumberland University. She has served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer, assistant athletic trainer, Interim Head Athletic Trainer/AT Program Director and now, as the AT Program Director.
In her current role, Arnold is responsible for maintaining Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) accreditation, increasing academic rigor, and recruiting and overseeing the growth of the Athletic Training Program. In addition to her administrative duties, she also instructs several courses within the program and Health and Human Performance (HHP) curriculums.
Arnold worked with the wrestling program at CU from 2006-13 and served as the athletic trainer for men's and women's tennis and men's soccer from 2009-13. During her tenure she also worked with the football and men's and women's golf programs (2008-09).
Prior to becoming the Athletic Training Program Director, the Jacksboro, Tenn., native earned both her undergraduate and master’s degrees from Cumberland University. She has a bachelor’s in Physical Education with an emphasis in Athletic Training (2006) and a master’s in Education (2008). Currently, she is writing her dissertation in completion of her Doctorate in Health Education.
