LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland football will begin spring practice on Wednesday, March 15, the first of 15 practices, and will conclude the month-long session with a spring game on Friday, April 7 at 6:30 p.m. at Nokes-Lasater Field.
Head coach Donnie Suber and the Phoenix return over 100 players from last year’s squad, including 43 letterwinners. Quarterback Dezmon Huntley as well as running backs Kendall Johnson and Kris Parker along with receivers Lorel Morton and Ladarius Rodgers will all participate in spring drills for the offense. Three of the defense’s top four tacklers – Alex Campagne, Cody Carr and DeAnthony Patrick – are all scheduled to take part in spring practice.
Cumberland will practice every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday starting March 15 and conclude with the spring game. Practices begin between 3:30-4 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
”Our guys are looking forward to getting started next week when they get back from Spring Break,” Suber said. “Spring practice is a great time for teaching many of the younger players who did not play last year or redshirted and also a time for your upperclassmen to display some leadership, working hard every day in practice despite the bumps and bruises that come from hitting.”
