Huntley named MSC Offensive Player of the Week

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland’s Dezmon Huntley passed for a touchdown and ran for two TDs in less than a quarter of action, garnering Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division Offensive Player of the Week honors on Monday, as announced by the league office.

The Mableton, Ga., native accounted for 150 yards of total offense and helped CU build a 24-0 lead before exiting the game. He tossed a 24-yard TD to Lorel Morton for the team’s first touchdown of the game and rushed 13 yards for a score on the next possession.

The redshirt junior then scampered 55 yards for a TD down the right sideline, pushing the Cumberland lead to 24-0 with 3:29 left in the opening period. He has five rushing and two passing touchdowns in three games this season.

Cumberland plays at Edward Waters College this Saturday at 3:30 p.m. CT in Jacksonville, Fla.
