LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland running back Kimlee North was named the Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, rushing for a career-high 154 yards and two touchdowns in CU’s 52-21 win over Bethel University, as announced by the league office.
The Nashville, Tenn., native collected the first 100-yard rushing game of his career on just 14 attempts, scoring two fourth-quarter touchdowns. The Phoenix led 28-21 at the half and 31-21 entering the fourth quarter.
North’s nine-yard TD run with 13:53 left in the contest made it 38-21 and after the Cumberland defense held on the ensuing Bethel possession, the sophomore running back burst through the middle and outran three defenders for a 62-yard score, essentially sealing the win for the home team.
North also scored two touchdowns against Cincinnati Christian on October 7 with runs of two and 30 yards.
The sophomore has 262 yards on 32 carries this season, 8.2 yards-per-attempt, with four touchdowns through eight games.
