Phoenix football ranked 25th in NAIA Coaches' Poll

LEBANON, Tenn.- Cumberland comes in at No. 25 in the NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 Poll, released on Monday by the national office.

The Phoenix defeated Thomas More University, 17-14, on Saturday in Crestview Hills, Ky., improving to 2-0 to start the 2019 season.

Cumberland ranks 8th nationally in rushing offense per game (243 yards per game) while the defense is proving to stand strong and come in at 9th in scoring defense, allowing 10 points per game, and 13th in total defense per game averaging 264.5 yards per game.

Cumberland continues its two game road stretch this week at St. Andrews in North Carolina before returning home the next week to take on Keiser University.
