LEBANON, Tenn. – One hundred and twenty-five current and former Cumberland student-athletes, athletic trainers and athletic staff will receive their degrees this Saturday in the 175th Commencement ceremonies on the lawn of Memorial Hall. It marks the fifth straight year of more than 100 graduates for athletic department student-athletes and personnel.
LEBANON, Tenn. – The Cumberland University Athletic Department is accepting nominations for the Class of 2017 Sports Hall of Fame until Monday, April 3. Nominations must be made in writing and include full justification for the nomination, including statistics, honors, awards and any other pertinent information about the nominee. The 2017 Hall of Fame dinner is set for Friday, October 6, at 6 p.m. in Baird Chapel.
LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland junior Diondrey Holt, Jr., earned Honorable Mention All-America accolades on Thursday, as announced by the national office. Players were selected by the NAIA-Men’s Basketball Coaches Association All-America Committee.
LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland’s Garrett Kirkland was named a 2017 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete on Monday, as announced by the national office. Student-athletes must be a junior or senior and carry a 3.50 grade-point-average and above to be eligible for the award.
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Jordan Perry posted 20 points and Rze Culbreath added 16, as eighth-ranked University of Pikeville scored 24 points off turnovers and pulled away from Cumberland in the second half for an 82-62 victory in the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference Men’s Basketball Championships here Friday night at the Frankfort Convention Center.
