CU hosting events at Feb. 7 basketball game
LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University’s next home basketball game, Saturday, February 7, will feature of host of activities, including a canned food drive for a local church, Upward Basketball players attending the men’s and women’s doubleheader as well as the annual Coming Home festivities, including the crowning of the king between contests.
The athletics department is sponsoring a canned food drive that will benefit the Compassion Center at College Hills Church of Christ in Lebanon. For all fans who donate a canned food item, $1 will be deducted from the price of admission for the game. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for senior citizens and children 10 and under are admitted free.
The First Baptist Church Lebanon Upward Basketball teams are scheduled to attend the contest between the Bulldogs and Mid-Continent University at the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center. All kids in uniform will be admitted free to the game and will be recognized at halftime of both the men’s and women’s contests.
The annual Coming Home festivities will take place between games. A court will be announced among the 14 nominees following by the crowning of the Coming Home King.
Cumberland has only three home basketball games remaining this season – Feb. 7 versus Mid-Continent, Feb. 12 against Union University and then the finale Feb. 28 versus rival Trevecca.
