Mt. Juliet's Stephens signs with Phoenix hoops

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland men’s basketball coach Jeremy Lewis announced the signing of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., native Isaac Stephens to scholarship papers this week for the 2018-19 academic year, the first Phoenix signee for next season.

Stephens helped the Bears to their first-ever trip to the TSSAA State Tournament as a senior, earning Player of the Year honors from The Wilson Post as well as All-District 9-AAA and Region 5-AAA All-Tournament honors. He averaged 14.7 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, shooting just over 68 percent from the field.

MJHS finished the 2017-18 campaign 27-8 overall, winning the 9-AAA tournament championship. He is the son of Sunny and Kindel Stephens.
