Fort Wayne's Blum inks with CU men's hoops
Fort Wayne, Ind., native Asher Blum signed scholarship papers with CU men's basketball for the 2018-19 academic year.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland men’s basketball coach Jeremy Lewis announced the signing of Fort Wayne, Ind., native Asher Blum to scholarship papers this week for the 2018-19 academic year.

Blum, the son of new Cumberland women’s basketball coach Scott Blum, is 6-foot-8 and averaged 13.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game this season for coach JJ Foster at South Side High School in Fort Wayne. He earned First Team All-Conference and All-State accolades as a senior for the Archers, shooting 53 percent from the field and 41 percent from 3-point range.

He is the son of Scott and Michelle Blum and is the second signee for Lewis since taking over the men’s program, joining Isaac Stephens (Mt. Juliet, Tenn.) in this year’s recruiting class.
