Seven players named TranSouth Scholar-Athletes

LEBANON, Tenn. – Seven Cumberland basketball players – four women and three men – were named TranSouth Conference Scholar-Athletes this week. Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically and maintain a 3.00 grade-point-average to be eligible for the award.

Women’s players Stefanía Ibague, Samantha Harper, Madison Pavan and Tamara Gonzalez were all recognized, as were men’s players Daniel McFadden, Terry Williams and Kyle Upton.

Freed-Hardeman led the way on the men’s side with five honorees, while Cumberland, Blue Mountain and Bethel University each had three. A total of 22 men’s players were honored from the nine men’s teams.

On the women’s side a total of 51 players were named to the team, with Trevecca Nazarene’s eight players tops among the nine teams.
