Matthew Cheeseman enters his first year as a graduate assistant for the Cumberland cross country team.
The Lowell, Ohio native, started his running career at Fort Frye high school where he was a member of the school records for the 4x1600, 4x800, and the distance medley relay. Following his high school career, Cheeseman received a scholarship to run Cross Country at Shawnee State where he qualified for Nationals twice, was a 2-time second team All-Conference in Cross Country, and a 2-time team captain.
His duties as a coach will include accountability of athletes, recruitment, and race day operations.
Cheesman graduated from Shawnee State University in May 2019.
