Kenyan Kipkoech Kiplagat signs with CU cross country
Eldoret, Kenya, native Denis Kipkoech Kiplagat inked scholarship papers with CU cross country for the 2019-20 academic year.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland cross country coach Jim Seckel announced the signing of Eldoret, Kenya, native Denis Kipkoech Kiplagat to scholarship papers this week for the 2019-20 academic year.

Kipkoech Kiplagat graduated from Wareng High School in Eldoret, earning All-Area honors in 2016 and Best Student-Athlete accolades in 2015. Since graduation, he has trained at the Limo Training Camp in Kaptagat, Kenya. He is the son of Sally Jepkemoi Kiptoo.

"Denis' presence will strengthen our cross country team and competitiveness in the long distance events on the track,” Seckel said. β€œHe is a product of one of the most well-known training camps in his native Kenya, has been well-coached, and will arrive well-prepared for the rigors of collegiate competition."
