LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland cross country coach Jim Seckel announced the signing of Chepkorio, Kenya, native Daniel Tarus to scholarship papers this week for the 2019-20 academic year.
Tarus attended Nairobi School in Nairobi, Kenya, placing eighth in the 5000-meters as a freshman and fifth as a sophomore in regional competition. He broke the school record in cross country as well. “Daniel brings yet another quality long distance runner to our cross country and track programs,” Seckel said. “He is another product of a well-known training camp in Kenya and has excelled is his preparations to come to our collegiate system. Daniel will be a cornerstone of our program for years to come.”
