Scott Wilkerson enters his eighth season as the head coach for both the men’s and women’s golf programs at Cumberland.
Under Wilkerson’s direction, the CU men’s golf team has won two TranSouth Conference championships (2005, 2009) and four Bulldogs have claimed individual conference titles – Dustin Thomas (2011), Josh Young (2009), Michael Shinn (2006) and Barry Conaster (2005). The 2009 team finished 16th in the NAIA National Championships. The Bulldogs also hosted the 2005 Region XI Tournament and advanced to the NAIA National Tournament in 2006. Thomas earned an invite to the NAIA National Tournament as an individual in 2011.
Wilkerson played professionally for 10 years after his collegiate career at Tennessee Tech. He served as the Director of Golf and PGA Head Golf Professional for 11 years at Oak Hills Country Club in Greenbrier, Tenn.
Wilkerson earned a bachelor’s in Education from Tennessee Tech in 1993 and also completed the PGA of America’s Golf Professional Training Program in 1997.
