CU hosting All-Sports Camp on Sept. 11

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University and the Lebanon-Wilson County Chamber of Commerce Sports Council are teaming up for an 2nd Annual All Sports Camp for Wilson County residents ages 7-12 on Sunday, September 11 from 3-5 p.m. on the CU campus. Registration starts at 2 p.m. that day.

Nine squads earn NAIA Scholar Team honors

LEBANON, Tenn. – The NAIA honored nine Cumberland athletic squads Friday as NAIA Scholar Teams for the 2015-16 academic year. Teams must obtain a 3.00 cumulative grade-point-average or higher for all eligible varsity student-athletes during the past academic year to garner the award.

127 named to 2016 Spring Dean's List

LEBANON, Tenn. – One hundred and twenty-seven Cumberland student-athletes, department personnel and athletic training majors were named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2016 semester, as released this week by the University.

Golf inks FHU transfer Daniel

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University golf coach Rich Williams announced the signing of Freed-Hardeman transfer Garrett Daniel to scholarship papers this week for the 2016-17 academic year.

Botts earns Academic All-America accolades

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland senior Ryan Botts was voted to the Second Team on the 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-America® College Division Men’s At-Large Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) and announced Monday by the national office.

Botts voted Third Team All-American

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland senior Ryan Botts was voted a Third Team NAIA All-American on Wednesday, as selected by the NAIA Men’s Golf Coaches’ Association All-America Committee. A total of 45 student-athletes were honored, with 15 individuals named to each of three teams.

Botts named CoSIDA Academic All-District

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University’s Ryan Botts was named to the CoSIDA Capital One Men’s At-Large Academic All-District 2 team on Thursday and now enters the pool of candidates from around the nation for selection to the Academic All-America team later this month.

116 current, former student-athletes graduating Saturday

LEBANON, Tenn. – One hundred and sixteen current and former Cumberland student-athletes, athletic trainers and athletic staff will receive their degrees this Saturday in the 174th Commencement ceremonies on the lawn of Memorial Hall. It marks the fourth straight year of more than 100 graduates for athletic department student-athletes and personnel.

Botts named Champions of Character Award winner

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University’s Ryan Botts was named the Mid-South Conference Men’s Golf Champions of Character Award winner this week during the conference tournament in Bowling Green, Ky.
