137 student-athletes named to Spring Dean's List

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University announced the 2014 Spring Semester Dean’s List last week, which includes 137 current and former student-athletes and athletic training majors. The honor is reserved for students who have achieved a grade-point-average of 3.50 or above on all classes attempted during the spring semester.


Garrett, Hunt, Rodrigues earn Academic All-District honors

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland student-athletes Austin Garrett, Zeke Hunt and Pedro Rodrigues were voted Capital One Academic All-District 2, as announced this week by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).


Garrett voted Third Team All-American

Garrett, Goodman earn NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University seniors Austin Garrett and Jeremy Goodman were named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes on Thursday, as announced by the national office. Student-athletes must be a junior or senior academically and hold a 3.50 grade-point-average or better to be eligible for the award.


Goodman selected as Champions of Character Award winner

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University’s Jeremy Goodman was voted the Mid-South Conference Men’s Golf Champions of Character Award winner during the conference tournament at the end of April in Bardstown, Ky.


131 student-athletes, personnel set to graduate

LEBANON, Tenn. – A record 131 current and former Cumberland student-athletes, athletic trainers and athletic staff will receive their degrees this Saturday in the 172nd Commencement ceremonies on the lawn of Memorial Hall on the CU campus. It marks the fourth straight year of increase in the number of graduates for athletic department student-athletes and personnel.


Williams named MSC Coach of the Year; CU wins regular season title

Athletics set to honor Bulldog scholar-athletes

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland Athletics will host the Third Annual Scholar-Athlete Recognition Day with a breakfast for 132 current students at Immanuel Baptist Church on Friday, April 25. Current Bulldog student-athletes must maintain a 3.25 grade-point-average with at least 30 credit hours passed before the spring semester.

Williams named golf head coach

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University Director of Athletics Ron Pavan announced Rich Williams as the new men’s and women’s golf coach on Friday, effective immediately. Williams replaces Scott Wilkerson, who is retiring after leading the program for 10 years, including bringing back women’s golf five years ago.


NAIA honors 13 Bulldog programs

LEBANON, Tenn. – A record 13 Cumberland University programs were honored as NAIA Scholar Teams over the weekend. Teams must post a minimum 3.0 grade-point-average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution and the team GPA includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.
