Steeger, Henderson both in Top 5 at Wolf Pack Invite

LEBANON, Tenn. – Freshman Adrian Steeger carded a two-under par 70, freshman Nick Henderson shot 71 and Cumberland was second as a team after the opening round of the Wolf Pack Spring Invitational in men’s golf action Monday in Abita Springs, La.

Steeger tied for second with his two-under total, two strokes behind the University of Mobile’s Wade Duke, while Henderson was just shots in back of Duke in fourth place on the 6,827-yard Money Hill Golf and Country Club Course.

Sophomore Reece Gaddes tied for eighth after the first round with a one-over par 73. Junior Jacob Nolen posted an opening-round 81 while junior Josh Wiseman shot 83 on Monday.

Cumberland carded a 295 as a team, just one stroke behind William Carey and three in front of host Loyola University as well as Mobile.
