Men's Golf in the lead after day one of MSC Fall Championship

RICHMOND, Ky.- After a delayed start and a cold and rainy day at Gibson Bay Golf Course the Cumberland Phoenix are sitting in first place after day one of the Mid-South Conference Fall Championship.

The Phoenix were led by Tomi Acotto who finished the day at one under par collecting three birdies and two bogeys. The Argentina native, is currently tied for first place with Callum Blinkhorn of Lindsey Wilson and Francesco Guarneri from the University of the Cumberlands.

Just behind Acotto, Adrian Steeger and Isaac Walker both shot one over par to put them at a tie for 5th place. Walker picked up two birdies and two bogeys on the front nine and one birdie and two bogeys on the back while Steeger collected two birdies and three bogeys on the round.

Reece Gaddes shot a two over 74 to put him in a tie for ninth place. Gaddes recorded two birdies on the front and three bogeys and played a much more consistent back nine paring every hole besides hole 13 where he picked up a bogey.

Junior Bryson Smith comes in with a four over par 76 on the day. Smith collected four bogeys throughout the round without carding a single birdie.

The Phoenix have a four stroke lead going into day two over Lindsey Wilson as Cumberland shot three over par for today's round.
