ADAIRSVILLE, Ga.- Cumberland is in the middle of the pack after shooting a day one 314 at the Barnsley Gardens Resort in Georgia.

Cumberland is currently in 8th place out of 19 teams and trailing conference rival Lindsey Wilson by two strokes. Dalton State is leading after shooting a 296 as a team, eight over par, with two players in a tie for second place individually along with Cumberland sophomore Adrian Steeger.

Steeger is sitting in a tie for second place after shooting an even par 72. Steeger collected birdies on Hole 1, 3, 4 and 18, but also bogeyed Hole 2, 6, 12 and 16 to offset each other and finish with par. He is one shot off the leader, Blake Watson from Point University.

Isaac Walker is currently in a tie for 13th place with a four over par 76. Walker did not let any holes get out of hand as he managed to keep everything bogey or better. Walker finished with two birdies on the day on Hole 4, a 516 yard par 5, and hole 12, another 524 yard par 5.

Bryson Smith had an up and down front nine as he collected two birdies on Hole 1 and 9, two bogeys on 2 and 5, two double bogeys and one triple. Smith played the back nine much better than the front as he started bogey, double bogey on Hole 10 and 11, but pulled together for seven straight pars. Smith finished with an 82 and is in a tie for 52nd place.

Jacob Nolen shot a round one 84 at Barnsley Garden. Nolen carded one birdie on Hole 1, a 400 yard par 4, but collected five bogeys and four double bogeys. Three of the four double bogeys that Nolen had came on par 3 holes.
