LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland’s Allyson Agee, Pedro Rodrigues and Evan Sanna were all voted Capital One Academic All-District IV in the At-Large category of the College Division as announced this week by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Agee, Rodrigues and Sanna will now enter the pool for Academic All-America honors to be announced in the coming weeks.

Agee, a junior from Dyersburg, Tenn., carries a 3.89 GPA in Criminal Justice and English. She played in all nine tournaments the Bulldogs participated in during the 2011-12 academic year, leading the club in a pair of events and posting an 83.9 scoring average.

Rodrigues finished the year 19-3 overall in singles, 17-1 in dual matches while also recording a 18-7 mark in doubles, 15-5 in dual matches. The Batalha, Portugal, sophomore was a perfect 12-0 at No. 4 singles and 4-1 at No. 3. He and Andres Burgos combined posted an 11-4 record at No. 3 doubles and the duo was 2-0 at No. 2 as well.

Sanna completed his senior campaign with a 17-5 singles mark, 12-3 in dual matches with a 10-1 record at No. 3. In doubles the Kew, Australia, native and Antonio Manuel Marcelo were ranked as high as seventh nationally after winning the ITA Southeast Regional in October and are currently 19th in the nation. The duo registered a 19-6 mark for the year, including 13-3 in dual matches.

To be eligible for the Capital One Academic All-America program, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 GPA on a 4.0 scale. CoSIDA members may nominate student-athletes from their own institution and only current dues-paying members of the organization may nominate.

Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s games/competitions at the position listed on the nomination. No student-athlete is eligible until he/she has completed one full calendar year at his/her current institution and has reached sophomore eligibility.
