Marcelo named ITA All-American

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University’s Antonio Manuel Marcelo was named an All-American by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, as announced last week by the national organization. Players ranked in the Top 20 nationally in the final ITA rankings in either singles or doubles earned All-America honors.

Eight clubs earn NAIA Scholar Team award

LEBANON, Tenn. – Eight Cumberland athletic teams posted team grade-point-averages of 3.00 or higher for the 2011-12 academic year, earning NAIA Scholar Team honors, as announced this week by the national office. Teams must record a minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution to be eligible for the award.
