LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland men’s tennis dropped one spot to No. 24 and the Phoenix women’s tennis team reentered the rankings at No. 25 in the latest NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Polls, as released this week by the national office.
Both teams have won three of their last four outings, including victories over the University of Pikeville at home and Georgetown College and Shawnee State on the road. The only losses for the two clubs in the month of April have come against Top-5 ranked Lindsey Wilson. The men dropped a 6-3 decision to the No. 5 Blue Raiders and the women were swept by second-ranked LWC.
Cumberland ends the regular season on Saturday at the University of the Cumberlands. The men are tied for third with the Patriots heading into Saturday’s final conference match of the year, while the CU women are tied for third with Campbellsville University. The Mid-South Conference Championships take place April 21-23 in Bowling Green, Ky.
