
LEBANON, Tenn. – Ainhoa Garijo Garrido collected two singles victories on Saturday to reach the finals while Ramon Puertolas posted one win but lost in the semifinals of the ITA Southeast Regionals in Georgetown, Ky.
Garijo Garrido defeated Lindsey Wilson’s Minja Gligic, 6-2, 6-1, in the quarterfinals and registered a 6-3, 6-2, victory over LWC’s Jovana Peric in the semifinals. She plays Sunday in the finals against either Isabella Dale from the University of the Cumberlands or Union College’s Isidora Petkovic. Garijo Garrido lost in the semifinals of this tournament to Dale last year in what was her first collegiate event.
Puertolas outlasted Martin Methodist’s Jesus Quesada, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1, in the quarterfinals before dropping a 6-1, 6-4, decision to Lindsey Wilson’s Denis Porcic, who had defeated Riccardo Ferraris earlier in the day, 6-0, 6-2.
