Lucich, Hernandez garner ITA Region Awards

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University’s Axel Lucich was named Most Improved Senior and Jessica Hernandez garnered Rookie of the Year honors for the East Region, as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association recently.

Lucich, a senior from Cancun, Mexico, registered an 8-7 mark in singles and collected an 8-10 record in doubles for the Phoenix.

Hernandez, the freshman from Bogota, Colombia, posted an 11-6 mark in singles – 4-2 at No. 1 and 7-4 at No. 2 – while producing a 12-6 record in doubles, earning All-America honors in doubles with Ainhoa Garijo Garrido.
