Men's volleyball signs Macon County's Coons
Macon County's Brandon Coons inked scholarship papers with CU men's volleyball for the 2018-19 academic year.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland men’s volleyball coach Scott Barbe announced the signing of Lafayette, Tenn., native Brandon Coons to scholarship papers this week for the 2018-19 academic year, the eighth Phoenix signee for next season.

Coons graduated from Macon County High School last May. He is the son of Shorty and Julie Shockley.

Coons joins Mason Chambers (Lebanon, Tenn.), Jaret Knight (Huntersville, N.C.), Jaycob Holmgren (Highlands Ranch, Colo.), Rylan Tillman (Long Beach, Calif.), Arthur Anorim (Dunwoody, Ga.), Stephan Davis (Spring Hill, Tenn.) and Christian Lester (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) in this year’s recruiting class.
