LEBANON, Tenn. – The Cumberland University Athletic Department is accepting nominations for the Class of 2017 Sports Hall of Fame until Monday, April 3. Nominations must be made in writing and include full justification for the nomination, including statistics, honors, awards and any other pertinent information about the nominee. The 2017 Hall of Fame dinner is set for Friday, October 6, at 6 p.m. in Baird Chapel.
CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University’s Morgan Gailor pitched a complete game allowing no runs, four hits and striking out eight batters in the opener leading the Tigers to a 5-0 victory and Cumberland pulled within one run in the sixth inning, but it wasn’t enough dropping a 5-4 decision in the second game of the series in Campbellsville, Ky., on Tuesday.
WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The Phoenix dropped a five inning 11-3 loss to the University of the Cumberlands in the opener and Tyra Graham recorded two runs, three hits and one RBI on the day including a one run double that tied the second game at four but the Patriots scored two runs in the sixth to win the final game of the series, 6-4 on Sunday in Williamsburg, Ky.
WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – The University of the Cumberlands scored three runs in fourth and sixth innings to claim a 6-5 victory in the opener but Sara Jordan allowed just one run and four hits in three-plus innings of work and Kassydi Montgomery collected three runs and three hits in the nightcap to secure a 10-6 win on Saturday in Williamsburg, Ky.
