Eight players named TranSouth Scholar-Athletes

LEBANON, Tenn. – Eight Cumberland softball players were among 59 named TranSouth Scholar-Athletes this week by the conference office in advance of the conference tournament that begins Wednesday in Jackson, Tenn. Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically and maintain a 3.00 grade-point-average on a 4.0 scale to be eligible for the award.

Union University and Blue Mountain College led the way with nine players each on the squad, while Cumberland, Bethel University and Mid-Continent University each had eight. The entire list of TranSouth Scholar-Athletes may be found at http://www.transouth.org/article/1361.php.
