Softball places eight on MSC Scholar-Athlete list

KINGSPORT, Tenn. – Eight Cumberland softball players were named Mid-South Conference Scholar-Athletes prior to the start of the Mid-South Conference Championships here Saturday at Domtar Park. Student-athletes must be a sophomore, junior or senior academically and maintain a 3.25 grade-point-average or above to be eligible for the award.

Eight clubs earn NAIA Scholar Team award

LEBANON, Tenn. – Eight Cumberland athletic teams posted team grade-point-averages of 3.00 or higher for the 2011-12 academic year, earning NAIA Scholar Team honors, as announced this week by the national office. Teams must record a minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution to be eligible for the award.


Softball adds transfer Kirk
