LEBANON, Tenn.--Softball head coach Heather Stanfill announced the 2020 softball schedule this week, the home schedule including four home series and three home and aways.
The season starts with a home series versus Bluefield College February 15-16, 2020, the first meeting between these squads since the Phoenix swept the Rams in a home and away series in 2014. The next home series is not until the middle of March against conference foe Georgetown (Ky.). The final two home series are, first, versus Cumberlands (Ky.) to start April and then closing the regular season against Campbellsville (Ky.).
Of the teams that the Phoenix will face this year, two made it to postseason play last year. Campbellsville (Ky.) fell in the NAIA Opening Round, while perennial power Lindsey Wilson advanced to the NAIA Softball World Series after winning both the MSC reular season and tournament titles.
Cumberland will face seven different conference opponents this season, including conference new comer Thomas Moore. Three of the series will be played at home, while the other four will be on the road.
Conference polls will be released January 13, 2020, while the NAIA will follow that with their preseason Coaches' Top 25 poll on the 15th.
