CU earns pair of wins on last day of Lindsey Wilson Classic

LEBANON, Tenn. – Maci Lerno registered a total of 22 kills while Amanda Worrell recorded 21 kills combined in both matches on Saturday to help lead the squad to a 3-1 victory over Indiana Univ. East and a 3-0 win over Freed-Hardeman during their last day at the Lindsey Wilson Classic.


CU takes second match of day

LEBANON, Tenn. – Maci Lerno collected 18 kills and Isidora Markovic and Abby Akins each posted eight, helping Cumberland to a 3-1 victory over Northwestern Ohio and a split of two matches in volleyball action Friday at the Lindsey Wilson Classic in Columbia, Ky.


Volleyball picked fifth in MSC Preseason Poll

LEBANON, Tenn. – The Cumberland volleyball team was voted fifth in the Mid-South Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll, was announced Thursday by the league office.


CU hosting All-Sports Camp on Sept. 11

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University and the Lebanon-Wilson County Chamber of Commerce Sports Council are teaming up for an 2nd Annual All Sports Camp for Wilson County residents ages 7-12 on Sunday, September 11 from 3-5 p.m. on the CU campus. Registration starts at 2 p.m. that day.


Fall student-athletes take part in Leadership Training, community service

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University fall athletic teams participated in Leadership Training on Wednesday that included lectures from University staff, CU Character Coach Jim Mike Ward and Tony Johnson, Vice President with Learfield Licensing, along with sessions on social media training and nutrition as well as eligibility.


Nine squads earn NAIA Scholar Team honors

LEBANON, Tenn. – The NAIA honored nine Cumberland athletic squads Friday as NAIA Scholar Teams for the 2015-16 academic year. Teams must obtain a 3.00 cumulative grade-point-average or higher for all eligible varsity student-athletes during the past academic year to garner the award.


127 named to 2016 Spring Dean's List

LEBANON, Tenn. – One hundred and twenty-seven Cumberland student-athletes, department personnel and athletic training majors were named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2016 semester, as released this week by the University.


Vadakin added as full-time assistant

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University volleyball coach Kathy Slaughter announced the hiring of Hannah Vadakin, the program’s first full-time assistant coach, this week, effective immediately. Vadakin spent the previous two seasons as a graduate assistant at Doane College in Nebraska.


Volleyball signs Sims for upcoming season

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University volleyball coach Kathy Slaughter announced the signing of Helena, Mont., native Ashttan Sims to scholarship papers this week for the 2016-17 academic year. Sims becomes the 13th CU signee for the upcoming season.
