LEBANON, Tenn. – Senior Danielle Girardeau posted 10 kills versus Pensacola Christian and sophomore Michelle Evans collected a dozen against Fisk University, leading Cumberland to a second straight day of sweeps and a perfect 4-0 mark in the Volleydawg Classic on Saturday at the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Sophomore Abby Shaw collected double-figure kills in both matches and sophomore Michelle Evans added 14, as Cumberland opened the season with a pair of sweeps over Tennessee Temple and Brescia University here Friday in the Volleydawg Classic at the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland was picked seventh in the Mid-South Conference Preseason Volleyball Coaches’ Poll released Monday, as announced by the league office.

LEBANON, Tenn. – A school-record 12 Cumberland programs were recognized this week as 2013-14 NAIA Scholar Teams. To be eligible, teams must post a minimum 3.0 grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution, with the team GPA including all eligible varsity student-athletes.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland Director of Athletics Ron Pavan announced the hiring of Vincennes University’s Brittany Harry as the program’s new volleyball head coach. Harry officially begins her duties at CU on July 14.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Long-time Cumberland volleyball coach Dwayne Deering has resigned effective June 27, as announced this morning by Director of Athletics Ron Pavan. A national search for Deering’s replacement will begin immediately under Pavan’s supervision.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University announced the 2014 Spring Semester Dean’s List last week, which includes 137 current and former student-athletes and athletic training majors. The honor is reserved for students who have achieved a grade-point-average of 3.50 or above on all classes attempted during the spring semester.
