LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland Athletics will host the Third Annual Scholar-Athlete Recognition Day with a breakfast for 132 current students at Immanuel Baptist Church on Friday, April 25. Current Bulldog student-athletes must maintain a 3.25 grade-point-average with at least 30 credit hours passed before the spring semester.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland volleyball players joined the cause to help promote fitness for kids and the community by volunteering at the Byars Dowdy Roar Run, a 5k run/walk at College Hills Church of Christ on Saturday.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland volleyball coach Dwayne Deering announced the signing of Siegel High School product Amanda Worrell to scholarship papers this week for the 2014 season. Worrell is the first signee for the Bulldogs for next season.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University announced the 2013 Fall Dean’s List, which includes 128 student-athletes and athletic training majors. The honor is reserved for students who have achieved a GPA of 3.50 or above on all classes attempted during the fall semester.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Cumberland University’s Karli Collins, Mackenzie Gass, Meghan Gass and Jenna Pavan were all named NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athletes on Friday by the national office. Student-athletes must be a junior or senior academically and maintain a 3.50 grade-point-average or better to be eligible for the award.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Abby Shaw led the Bulldogs with 11 kills while Kasi Wells handed out 11 assists and Meghan Gass posted 11 digs, but Cumberland started slowly in the final two sets and dropped a 3-0 decision to ninth-ranked Lindsey Wilson here Friday in the quarterfinals of the Mid-South Conference Volleyball Championships at Mid-America Sports Center.

LEBANON, Tenn. – Senior Mackenzie Gass was the lone member of the Cumberland volleyball team to appear on the Mid-South Conference awards announced Thursday by conference officials in advance of the conference tournament that begins Friday in Louisville, Ky.
